North Harbor’s Family Ministry department is passionate about partnering with parents to help lead kids toward a growing relationship with Jesus. We utilize fun, engaging, and age-specific children’s ministry environments from birth through high school graduation to ignite and grow faith in kids while providing valuable resources to support and encourage parents as the primary spiritual leaders in each child’s life.
Parent partnering isn’t just a cool phrase in our mission statement, it is the driving force behind every aspect of Family Ministry at North Harbor. We believe that our role in your child’s faith development is secondary to yours; since parents are the primary spiritual leaders in their child’s life (Deut. 6), we strive to support, equip, and encourage you to lead the effort in helping your child develop a life of faith. To that end, we offer annual trainings like our Spiritual Parenting class, periodic parent meetings and Milestones Classes to give you the tools to walk your child through the decision making process surrounding Salvation as well as practices like Baptism and Communion, and regular print and virtual resources like HomeFront weeklies, HomeFront monthlies, and periodic email newsletters. Our incredible team of caring, trained, background-checked volunteers and staff count it a privilege to serve your family. We hope to see you this Sunday!
Kids’ Cove is our Sunday morning ministry for children ages 6th grade and younger. We have four age-specific environments: The Bay (0-2 yrs), The Tide (2-4 yrs), The Pool (4 yrs-Kindergarten), and The Surf (1st-6th grade). Each environment is uniquely crafted to inspire wonder about and faith in God by helping each child to experience the incredibly rich Biblical narrative of salvation, what we call the “Big God Story.” Learn more about our curriculum called TRU. Parents are encouraged to pre-teach each Sunday’s lesson from the HomeFront weekly handouts distributed every Sunday so that kids have even more opportunity to absorb and apply each week's Bible story.
